HOW TO GET THE VISA TO SPAIN?
These are the documents needed
to start with the whole process of applying for your ‘Tarjeta de Residencia’ in
Spain.
Contact your nearest Spanish
Consulate to confirm all the following information and collect the documents
listed underneath:
- 3 notarized copies of ID page of your
passport.
- 4 recent ID size photographs (Spanish ID size –
25x32mm with white background).
- Doctor’s statement of good health and 2 notarized
copies of the Spanish translation.
- Police certificate of good standing and 2 notarized
copies of the Spanish translation.
- Degrees or diplomas and 2 notarized copies of the
Spanish translation.
Please confirm with the
Consulate the kind of police certificate they request. For the last 10 years the certificate had
been enough, but now I think they want the federal record.
For the school information and
in order to issue the Employment agreement, please email the school the
following information:
- Your
address.
- Your
passport number.
- Your passport date of expiry.
- Your
parents’ names.
- Your date and place of birth.
With this information we will
issue your Employment Agreement and we will fill out your application for the
Spanish Residence. Then those documents will
be sent to you by courier.
As soon as you have all the documents needed, please phone the Consulate
for an appointment to apply for your visa.
The visa to apply is: ‘Visado Tipo D de Residencia’
Make sure to take the original documents and the copies, including the
passport.
The resolution will probably take 3 months.
Once the visa has been accepted, the consulate will call you to have the
visa stamped on your passport. You will
have one month to collect it and two to travel with that visa.
Important points
- When travelling to Spain,
make sure to have your visa or passport stamped with the entry date at the
first EU border or at least have it stamped by the police at Las Palmas airport before leaving the airport
premises.
- Please bring all the documents you submit to the
consulate and any other papers they might have given you.
Once you arrive to Las Palmas,
the school will help you with all the remaining steps to obtain your residence
card and any other paperwork you might need to legalize your situation in the
country.
