The American School of Las Palmas consists of one large two-story classroom and administration building with attached cafeteria; six unique white domes which function as classrooms, library, and laboratories; a separate Pre-School with four classrooms and support areas; and several smaller buildings, which lie in the picturesque valley of Marzagan overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, 15 kilometers to the south of Las Palmas. ASLP is recognized as a foreign (American) system school by the Spanish Government. Due to the variety of the students' backgrounds, a combined American-Spanish (European) program is offered that prepares the students for entry into American, Spanish and British universities. The school’s High School Program (Standard Diploma) is accepted as the equivalent of a Spanish "Bachillerato" diploma.
ASLP is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). The school is a member of the Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS) and the English Speaking Canary Islands Schools association (ESCIS).

HOW TO GET TO ASLP
The school is located about 15 kilometers south of Las Palmas. The fastest way is to come via the Autopista del Sur (GC-1) which is a freeway running along the east coast of the island going to Playa del Inglés/Maspalomas in the south. As you head south you will transit a long tunnel, hold to the right and take the exit just prior to a second tunnel. This will take you to the town of Jinámar. Just before you reach Jinámar you will need to take a right turn toward the town of Marzagan. Follow this road until you pass through Marzagan and reach a left turn sign indicating "Tafira por Los Hoyos". Take the left turn and follow the road uphill for several kilometers until you see the white "igloos" of the American School of Las Palmas on your right.
A second route to the school is to take the main road from Las Palmas to Tafira Alta. Once in Tafira Alta, turn left at the sign for Marzagan, in 100 meters you dead-end in an intersection, turn right on the Carretera de los Hoyos. This is a narrow road that winds its way down toward Los Hoyos for several kilometers. Eventually you will see the igloos of the American School on the left.
The school is also accessible by public transport. Please call the school office for information on the bus route.
