Students develop their understanding and practice in the written and spoken word. Grammar is studied in order to make explicit the structure of language. The use of new technologies is investigated in order to enrich personal development and prepare students for 21st century careers. They are introduced to significant works of Literature which are studied in the context of the time and place in which they were written. Analysis and synthesis of argument are skills which are developed in conjunction with an enjoyment of Literature. The course follows the curriculum set out by the Spanish Department of Education. SFL courses are also available and follow a methodology similar to that of ESL.
