Ambassadors Award for Exceptional Leadership - The American School of Las Palmas

On June 17th, the American School of Las Palmas will celebrate the graduation of its 49th senior class. Graduation has always been a special event at ASLP. During the ceremony, there are many moments that are memorable. One of the moments that make it unique is when the Ambassadors Award is announced.

The Ambassadors Award was established in 1993 by the then Ambassador to Spain, Mr. Richard G Capen, Jr.  Every year since, the faculty has always selected a senior who has exemplified exceptional leadership qualities.  During the commencement exercises, the award is presented to this student. The Ambassadors Award was given in the spirit of honoring the unique educational and cultural ties that exist between Spain and the United States of America. Even though, Mr. Richard G Capen, Jr. is no longer the ambassador to Spain, he continues to send his award every year.
