Travel to Maine for the Cultural Exchange Program - The American School of Las Palmas

Twelve students from Upper School and two teachers from ASLP will travel to Maine for the Cultural Exchange Program with Camden Hills Regional High School. The trip will take place from October 27 to November 11 2016. The students will spend the two weeks with an American family and go to the local school mentioned above.
The students will experience what it is to visit a high school in the US and then do cultural activities with their family such as visiting National Parks or crossing the frontier into Canada. The students will also spend some time briefly visiting Boston and some universities like Harvard.
They will stay with the families which they hosted earlier this year. In April, 11 students and two staff members from Camden Hills Regional High School visited ASLP and Gran Canaria. Their objective was to learn and improve their Spanish and experience Spanish culture. Now, it’s the turn of ASLP students to discover what it is to ride the “yellow” school bus, eat the cafeteria food of the school, see a football game, eat dinner at 17:30, walk the halls of a high school and learn the same subjects but in a different setting. The students will also have the opportunity to do sports such as lacrosse, canoeing football.
